From the glamour of the stage to the pulse of the streets, the Hadang Festival brings out the very best of our culture. Here are this year's top victors, and the defining moments where they claimed their titles.
What is Hadang?
Hadang is an ancient Visayan ritual of making offerings to spirits, for protection, healing, good fortune or a bountiful harvest. It is still performed in Calbayog by local tambalans, and it is the foundation of the city's official festival: known until 2025 as the Sarakiki-Hadang Festival, named Hadang Festival by city ordinance on 1 September 2025, and three times champion at Samar's Tandaya Festival of Festivals.

Hadang Ritual Street Dancing Competition and Grand Showdown
September 6, 2026. San Joaquin National High School's "Hadang san Pagtubas" won the Hadang Ritual Street Dancing Competition 2026, topping six contingents through the city streets and the Grand Showdown at the Calbayog City Sports Center.
