September 2-7, 2026 | Handumanan, Calbayog City
While the festival filled its stages and streets, Handumanan filled its walls. Kolor San Calbayog brought together 25 Calbayognon artists for a public art exhibit mounted by the City Arts and Culture Office, opening on September 2 and welcoming visitors until September 7.
The collection covered a range of subjects and styles, from landscapes and portraits to abstract work, every piece produced by an artist from the city. For many visitors, it was the first time seeing the work of local painters gathered in one venue.
The participating artists were Willy Labana, Noel Sagayap, Jun Sabile, Butch Diaz, Carlos Barandino, Melanio Olano Jr., Gary Manalo, Joel Manadong, John Vincent Labasbas, Abegail Iris Advincula, Nino Cinco, Nilo Rodriguez, Liberty Lozada, John Lloyd Mayola, Ainah Solayao, Ricky Orquin, Jezreel Beduya, Cristopher Valentino, Jessie Sambalilo, Simeon Rodriguez Jr., John Paul Llander Anotado, Mary Luckylyn Padillo, Melvin Roxas, Zcharina Miguela Villones, and Mercy Garcia.

Hadang is an ancient Visayan ritual of making offerings to spirits, for protection, healing, good fortune or a bountiful harvest. It is still performed in Calbayog by local tambalans, and it is the foundation of the city's official festival: known until 2025 as the Sarakiki-Hadang Festival, named Hadang Festival by city ordinance on 1 September 2025, and three times champion at Samar's Tandaya Festival of Festivals.
